At New Jersey Vein and Laser Center, we accept Medicare and most insurance plans. Most initial consultations and diagnostic examinations (such as ultrasound examinations) are covered by the majority of insurance companies. We will work together with your insurance provider to determine what will be covered and you will be informed prior to any service provision.
In most cases, vein disease treatment procedures are covered by insurance if determined to be medically necessary. “Medically necessary” means that your venous disease causes symptoms that interfere with your usual daily activities, including work or recreation. There usually must also be pain, ulceration, phlebitis, or notable skin changes in order for the treatment to qualify as medically necessary. The treatments for these symptoms will usually need pre-authorization, and our staff will be happy to submit a request for coverage once medical necessity has been determined.
